This little newborn boy is such a special little one. He was brought into this couple's life recently and has given them so much joy. This family is close to me as they are part of my sister's family, practically our family. They have been given the greatest gift. I love his chubby little cheeks, can not wait to watch him grow up!

One Saturday morning two weeks ago, I went to a friend's house to do a lifestyle series of images, tea party, cowboy, sandbox, popsicles, Summer FUN! I love showing real life, sometimes, scraps, bumps and bruises bring us memories. The Summer is filled with wet feet, sunburned skin, popsicle cheeks and sticky fingers.

My client had a lot of her own props and brought her own creativity to the table some were very personal. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I did while taking them.

A milestone, one year

This little guy has been capturing my heart since he was about 6 months old. Such a happy baby and love his baby soft skin and big blue eyes. I first met these guys last December for holiday photos, I am so glad we met, what a fun group of people! We headed down to the "lake" to do his one year pics, he loved the last part with the watermelon. Funny, we did not have a knife, so it was cut open on a rock, so natural and perfect! Happy First Birthday, Little C- you're growing up way too fast!

Oh what fun we had in Peter Rabbit's village, in the heat of June, it was still a great time. I loved capturing her spirit and you can see in one of the images where she leans, we sang: I'm a little teapot" one of her favorite songs! That really helps to give me great information at the time of your shoot, we can really let loose and get to know each other.

I am doing a REFERRAL discount too, one referral discount per person. If you refer a person, they have to sign up for a session, pay their $25 deposit, then you get $25 off your session, normally $75, will be $50. My first born son turned five this month, and boy was it a great time. May is always a busy month for me and this year was no different. I had Party Pets come out to the park and we had a grand ol' time. My son was in animal heaven, he really found his calling. I had a friend help shoot the party and she did an awesome job, I am so thankful. Off I go to pack up the car for a long trip to the coast tomorrow!

The last of the Bluebonnets

Although this season was not the best for wildflowers here in DFW, we still managed to capture the beauty of nature that surrounds us. Such uniqueness, each session was so different and that is what makes what I do so rewarding! The time I have put into my business has been such a blessing, it is growing so fast, hardly can keep up with my three boys and now a great career path for me. These two families were the last of the bluebonnets this season, the kids are so sweet, love 'em!

I try to learn and strive for something every time I do a session for someone. My style is unique a little relaxed. I try to capture people when they are true, not staring and unreal looking at me through the lens. My goal is to do sessions for families where they can make it a memory, a fun time. I just love this family, we have been friends for a few years now, they live just down the street from me. I am so happy they trusted me and my wild ideas. They have such a unique look and have such awesome big hearts, they are real. I hope you all see that in my images of them.

Went to the farm in the pouring down rain where it rained all day. The littles had a great time and stayed nice and dry on the porch of this old house. Everybody loves bunnies!!!

What a difference the season makes! No more winter blues for me. I met up with these sisters in Grapevine at the Nash farm for a bunny session. So far, most of the littles have loved the bunnies, some have tried to rip off their ears, drool on them, drop them they take a lickin' and keep on tickin'!

I try to never give up and especially when there is RAIN! This session, there was rain right before I arrived. Literally driving to the trains and RAIN. I kept driving and driving and when I arrived, it stopped! This little guy made me work work work. I had fun being a big kid though.

Wow, my baby is almost two years old. Last week, we had some gorgeous sun and warmer temps, so I took him out to a new spot for a session. Apparently when it snows, the ground gets real soggy and dirt turns to mud. Well, after about 30 minutes, my van got stuck. I know I am passionate about photography when I get stuck in the mud at a location just for a few images!

February has turned out to give me huge broken heart. The weather has been so cold and rainy. We have not seen the sun in over two weeks. Despite juggling locations and days and clients, I still have managed to stick it out and get some great shots for people. I have several more to do and am hoping the weather gets better. I am so blessed to be busy and am really enjoying every minute.

Patterns, Denim and Chairs Oh My!

It is cold out folks, so Mr. Cason and I decided to do our session indoors minus 20 minutes at then end in the cold wind. There are so many colors, patterns and lights here, it was definitely a challenge. Plus this little man is scooting around everywhere, but he sure is a cutie, isn't he! Well, the holidays are gone and 2010 is here. We have been cleaning, organizing and donating old unused items for a week now. We had a wonderful Christmas with snow and my husband was home the day after Christmas for the first time in several years.

Half of the cards we received this year were from my clients. I loved seeing how everyone used the photos in a card. I will keep each and ever one of them to look back and enjoy for many years. I am looking forward to more fun in 2010 and have many exciting themed mini sessions in the works! Here's to the second full year of my new business.

Two of Each

I am so thankful for this gift I have and that I have clients who contact me over and over for more images of their loved ones. That is something to be thankful for considering the state so many people are in these days, including my family.
These guys are so blessed to have so many beautiful children. I hope to have another child soon. Four is such a great number!

We celebrated Thanksgiving at my sister's house this year and it was so nice, casual, delicious, great company. I even came home and got caught up on sessions! If you are waiting on a preview from me, let me know. I am posting previews for clients who ask right now since this is the busy time for me. There are seven more on my list, I am hoping to get these out the door. So for now, this is the second to last preview I am posting right now. Trains are so fascinating to me. I love the textures they provide in my images, but I dislike waiting for them to pass while I leave my hood. This guy is the same age as my son. He has much more energy than I could ever have, I think if I ran around like he did, I would be the size of a super model. Had fun A!

I found some new ways to get reactions out of people thanks to these guys. Oh what fun, I will never think of pancakes in the same way. I think children do so well when they are outside and you can not beat natural light and how it makes the skin glow! For your first family session outdoors, I think you guys look like naturals!

How fun would it be to have three girls! I have no clue, since I have three boys. But boy oh boy were these girls charming and very prepared to work it for the cam! I was shocked when the youngest little lass would just sit there and give me all sorts of expressions and poses to work with, we spent a few hours walking around the Arboretum. I think a good time was had by all, thanks guys for hanging in there until the end.

Change in Season

The leaves are falling and the sun is going down early. I love this time of year, but it does make me lazy and sleepy. No wonder the bears sleep the entire time! I met up with these guys one week day morning for a session and the spot I chose was not very colorful and the leaves had all fallen off the trees. So, last minute, we met across the street and I love the golden colors and warm feeling in the images.

Lately, I have been meeting up with several families and capturing images of them for the holidays. They have been such a treat for me and a nice change from my normal job staying at home and doing graphic design. I love to get out and breath the fresh air. Check out this family, they are such naturals in front of the camera and even posed for a few.

Sweet Memories

I was strolling down memory lane recently and recall setting up photo shoots for my dog "Mikey" in my bathroon. I would tape a huge blanket over the mirror and place stuffed animals and then my dog in the middle and snap away. My first camera was a Red Canon film camera, can't recall the model. I did love to snap away then and the urge has revolved again and again once I had children.

What a laid back and fun family these guys are. I love it when people are up for anything and we just stroll around. Typically, I try to refrain from "posing" people because sometimes it backfires and people end up looking like stiff robots. I capture what I feel in the moment, so difficult to explain. I hope these images bring you guys many more fun family moments.

Returning Clients

I love this aspect of what I do, getting to know people and having them contact me for more images! I feel like I have the greatest time getting to know these new friends and their families. You can tell by my blog that I am not much of a writer and am more of a visual person, been that way for a long long time. I enjoyed the photos in books, rather than the words. I guess you would say it has always been this way.

These friends picked the most outrageous colors for this session, I love how the red POPS and the backdrop aint to bad either. We did get kicked out of one location, but then off to the next. These girls, especially the younger sis liked working it for the camera. At least Ms. S gave me some more smiles this time. See ya next Spring guys!

The Gaylord is already decked out so we took advantage of their hospitality of fine decorations for some family portraits. These 2 kiddos were a little tough to capture together, but we did get a few great ones.

This past two months has been so crazy busy. A big thank you to my dear friends and sister who continue to spread the word about my photography business. While it is taking off, I have to seriously play catch up on a new blog and more marketing materials. Hope to get that started in January. What a blessing it is to enjoy what I do, finally!

Although I stay home with my three boys who are all under 4, I have managed to get my photography business movin' with the help of so many friends and my sister, Eryn. Big HUGS to all of you and thank you guys for calling me and to those clients who keep coming back, you know who you are!

At the first of the month, I met up with Lis and her growing family at the Canals. The little blond curly guy was such a character and truly represents what I love about people are are real in front of the camera. I captured some great moments with these guys, something that will last them forever.

Little Ms. P was so ready for her session with several great outfit changes. This little one has definitely discovered her feet. After about 30 minutes of shooting, I realized she had on this tiny little silver bracelet. It was adorable and really made her look like such a big girl. Gotta love the tutu and the precious hair bands.

Feel so Blessed

I have been so blessed to be surrounded by such beauty, friendship and love. To be able to capture it in images is such a wonderful feeling for me and gives me such hope and happiness. My goal this next year is to find a great organization to give back. This past few weeks has been very busy for me, the first time ever and I think I am really going to like this. As I write this entry, my boys are chasing each other up and down the hallway in their jammies. Such memories I never want to forget. Just a few images from recent sessions, everyone is getting ready for family and togetherness this holiday season and it means so much more to me these days.

I met Lori through a good friend of mine from James' school. This session went so smooth, despite the fact that the sun is setting earlier now, we made it a little bit close. I am glad we were able to get together for a session. All three kids were so ready and willing to be photographed, we had a splendid time.

The bond between a brother and a sister is so great and you can definitely see that in the images I captured of these guys. They were relaxed and just themselves from the beginning of our session. I felt like I was a fly on the wall and that is something I strive to do as I become more experienced in my field.

Every session is different, no two are alike and my style is to do something different with each person. I reacted when I saw these photos and that is what I hope you all do as well. Images evoke emotion and memories, we made some today. Thanks you guys for a memorable shoot. There are so many more for you to see, but this is just a taste, I do not want to spoil it!

Recently, I had a mini session at the pumpkin patch, a few newborns and families. As I pack tonight to go on my own family vacation, I wanted to leave my clients a little preview of what is coming next, the greatest images ever! I see love, friendship, beauty, trust and happiness in these images. I am amazed at how beauty and grace shines in these photos. I only hope these bring much joy to those who will receive them.

Went to a friend's house to capture their newest family member, Ella. She is a true beauty, so peaceful. I struggled to find light in their house, with solar screens, it makes the house cool and darker. We found one spot upstairs, I love how I come in to people's houses and rearrange their furniture and open every blind in the house.

Months of Girls

It seems to be a trend to have baby girls these days, something of which I know very little about. The newborns I have photographed have been very cooperative. Perhaps in all of my experience I have that touch or it could be the wonderful moms who are there right beside me. Either way, I love capturing the newborns when they are fresh, itty bitty and days old. My ideal time is 6-8 days, although I have yet to do that, most moms allow me to come at two weeks, which is pretty good too. There I was sweatin' away and shooshing my hear out...

Sweet Baby Olivia

Finally, rain haulted for a few sessions this weekend. I explored some new areas and really liked what my camera saw. The breeze was so nice for a change and so was little Olivia and her parents, what a joy, to photograph this precious smiling girl and her family. I think she looks just like a doll baby in these images I captured, timeless.

Four Girls

What a blessing to have four such beautiful girls. I met with this family during the week and was amazed at how normal everything is with four running around the house. I think, this could be me some day. I snapped away while dad made some delicious dinner and oh did it smell good. We bounced Miss H around everywhere in the front, the back, living room and upstairs. Poor thing was woken up so many times, we decided to give her a rest and it was the key to get the last remaining perfect shots.

When Life is Really Good

The day started off with rain and clouds, then the sun showed up and off I went to photograph Mr. G. These guys had me booked since last December. I have had such great opportunities to photograph sweet little newborn lives, it has been amazing, almost as amazing as birth photography. Mr. G let me mess with him for an hour or so and he stayed asleep, I felt like the baby whisperer. So much fun to photograph newborns and so much time and patience. His older sister loved the camera and we had a little model session while baby G was feeding.

This is my first session with twins and it is basically like I was there with my 3 boys who might as well be triplets they are so close in age. These adventurous little boys were such a pleasure to hang out with. We captured some great moments and memories for the family.

A stroll with Miss E {Happy 4th of July}

What a pleasure it was to meet Miss E, a 17 month old girl who is so "calm" compared to my 16 month old boy who never stops. It was such a nice time, she would look right at me and I would make funny monkey sounds. Such a nice part of what I do is making a fool out of myself in front of everyone, singing, playing peek-a-boo and making strange sounds, but that is how I get the shot I desire. Thanks for sweating it out with me this weekend gang, these images of your little girl will surely put a smile on everyone's face!

I met up with Ms. C and her fun family for a trip to Fort Worth. It was great having no real place in mind and just using my eye to guide me to the right spots for some interesting shots. We headed to the Mid-Cities at the end and had some fun on the playground and her church. It was so nice and that is why I love what I do, because every session is different.

Old Highschool Friends {Grapevine Photography}

Triplets: all age 4, the same age as my own. This is such a fun age, exploring, gaining knowledge and more crazy boy stuff. I have three boys, almost could be triplets by how close they are in age, but these three boys are all the exact same age and boy how much fun we had on the trains and the old firetruck. It was hot hot hot by the trains and these guys were great.

Boy is it hot! I could tell that it was so hot that when I met some friends for lunch after this shoot, I drank four glasses of water! I could also tell while editing these pics that on the tracks, Mr. A and Ms. B's faces were all red. We had fun though and it was neat watching the little one, who is three days apart from my little one pose for me, or should I say, run from me. This family has been such good friends to us and our first born children were in the same childbirth class together!

California feelin' Maternity

It such a nice treat to have real love, emotion and feelings emerge in my photographs. With this session, it was not only fun, but I got so many great shots of this family being real. I love the field of wildflowers and it made my feel like I was a hot California photographer. I do a candid and casual style and normally depict relationships in my photos and you can really tell in every single one of these. To spare you the scrolling. I have only picked a few of my favs.

Can you tell I am having fun photographing my new niece? She is such a doll, you forget how fragile and tiny they are. She was such a trooper during the last three times I have photographed her. I can see the love Ms. M has for her new baby sister, it brings me so much joy that I was able to capture these fresh new moments for my sister and her family.

My friend met me in Southlake for some newborn shots of her two little kiddos. I had to be quick because the mosquitoes were out in full force. My favs are of Mr. L in the frog beanie made by Stacie- so cute! Since I love frogs, this was a must for me. Hope you enjoy these my friend, thanks for putting up with those pesky insects all night.

My nieces met up with me today for some more great shots in Colleyville. It was a nice, humid morning with more more more lovely mosquitoes! I took my son along with me and although we lost him for a minute as he disappeared into my van, he helped his cousin let loose and really smile for me. I just love capturing true spirits of people and their relationships. Not just candid, but personal and real true life. As I edited these photos tonight, I saw the true love that Miss M has for her new baby sis, that is what I call capturing life in photographs.

I had the pleasure of meeting two "full of life" girls and their wonderful and friendly parents. We spent almost three hours together walking in the beautiful gardens, smelling the roses and trying very hard to get the 21 month old chica to show us her smile. We were able to capture her precious smile a few times and she really enjoyed her special treat in the end.

Sunday, I met my sister and her family at the bluebonnet patch for a mini session of fun! The clouds in the sky made it perfect for lighting. Overcast days are great days to go out and photograph people, no reflector needed. My niece, Maddy, loved the ladybugs everywhere.

A few weeks ago, I met an old friend of mine from childbirth class for some modern-type location photos of her family. This was my first time at the railroad tracks and it was very interesting and different for me. The sun was out full force, along with a little chill in the air, but we made it through. I also discovered the feed store had baby dwarf rabbits ans colored chicks just in time for Easter. Check the family out! As a mother, I have a profound connection with being pregnant and having a newborn child brought to this life. Pregnancy to me is such as beautiful thing and it really goes by fast, just like the tiny feet and hands you grow to love in your newborn child. I love documenting this stage in a woman's life. My friend was such a treat to photograph, mainly because she is so beautiful and she does not move around like a little toddling toddler. I combined this post with 2 sessions I did for her.

What a pleasure it was to photograph my friend from playgroup over the weekend. Although she might have been a little sleepy from the day's events and the 2 hour session, we captured some fabulous images of her. She is three and a half, the same age as my oldest and it was so interesting to see how much they are alike because they are three. She sat in a tree with a working bee hive and was very cautious of what the little insects were up to. I was thinking in my head how James would be doing the same thing, you have to love their curiosity.

My friend, Molly, contacted me to do portraits of her son, Caleb this past weekend. He was so cooperative and you could not even tell it was almost dinnertime! We had a great time getting to know each other and he really made me laugh with his little marching and arms to the side acts.

I met Ms. Hudson last Saturday and had a lovely afternoon. Her mommy said Ms. H really liked me because she smiled and showed me some charm. Not once did she fuss, even when big sis was there. Ms. H did although give her big sis a little shower in her lap towards the end of the shoot!
